Origin is dedicated to curating inspired, unique and unforgettable events in beautiful locations. Cooking with fresh, local, seasonal and handcrafted foods from hand selected farms & friends. At its heart Origin is driven by old school hospitality and exceptional service we help you create a truly unique and original event experience. Our meals are cooked directly over heartwood flame on our custom wood fire ovens, smokers and grills. Origin provides exceptional full-service wedding & event food and beverage as well as event planning and design. Although we call Canterbury our home, Origin will stoke our fires anywhere across the South Island.
Jonny Schwass is the culinary creative behind Origin. Raised in the Canterbury restaurant industry Jonny has long standing relationships and friendships with some of Canterbury’s finest suppliers, farmers, growers and craftsmen. Living in Canterbury where food produced here is some of the worlds finest Jonny creates menus and wine lists based on the seasons, the region and the land to create a truly immersive dining experience.
